Indices of Multiple Deprivation Update News - "DCLG will not be re-issuing existing English Indices of Deprivation (ID) using the new LSOAs. As others have commented, the ID 2010 reflect a range of historic data, mainly from 2008, which was collected or compiled for each LSOA in England. It would be a substantial task to re-collect or re-compile data using the new LSOA boundaries, assuming such data are even available. This is in line with general guidance on production of small area statistics that used pre-2011 boundaries.
We are assessing options for updating the Indices. Where possible, a new set of indices would reflect the new LSOA boundaries and incorporate relevant Census data.
The IMD team can be emailed at email@example.com, and our website has moved to: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/english-indices-of-deprivation-2010.”

Welcome to the new Somerset Intelligence web site - April 2013 marks the launch of the new Somerset Intelligence web site, replacing the Somerset Intelligence Network (SINe). For those familiar with SINe, the web site will look and feel very similar to the old one, so hopefully you can still find what you are looking for. For anyone previously confused over what or who the Somerset Intelligence Network (SINe), the Partnership Intelligence Unit (PIU) or Somerset Intelligence partnership (SIP) was, this new name and branding will replace all 3 and hopefully be much easier to understand.
This new web site should allow us to manage the content more easily, you'll find that some information previously only available in downloadable PDFs can now also be viewed directly in a web page and we've taken the opportunity to do a bit of tidying up.
In the early days we will still be making a few adjustments here and there, we also hope to implement a much improved search tool, but in the mean time if you find a problem or are struggling using the new site in any way, please feel free to get in touch.
