Avon & Somerset Constabulary and Avon & Somerset Police & Crime Commissioner

The Police and Crime Plan is a statutory document the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) is required to produce under the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011. It outlines their strategic direction for their term in office.

The Avon and Somerset PCC’s plan for 2016-21 sets out the Commissioner’s strategic priorities following consultation with you. They are:

• Protect the most vulnerable from harm;
• Strengthen and improve your local policing teams;
• Ensure Avon and Somerset Constabulary has the right people, the right kit and the right culture; and
• Work together effectively with other police forces and key partner agencies to provide better services to local people.

The plan covers the period 1 October 2016 to 31st March 2021.

Safer Somerset Partnership

Community Safety Partnerships are nationally recognised bodies. Under the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, all ‘statutory partners’ should work in partnership to reduce crime and disorder.  In 2013, the Avon and Somerset Police and Crime Commissioner approved a formal merger of a county-wide Safer Somerset Partnership.

Somerset 'Our Plan' is a statuary requirement and covers the period of 2017-21.

This plan outlines the following 4 partnership priorities:

1. Protect people from the Harm of Domestic and Sexual
   Abuse
2. Identify and Prevent the Exploitation of Vulnerable People
3. Identify and Support those with Inequalities and vulnerabilities, which
   can lead to poorer health outcomes and increased risk taking behaviors
4. Meet our Statutory Duties [Reducing Reoffending and Domestic Homicide Reviews]

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service is the largest non-metropolitan fire and rescue service in England.

There is so much more to the modern fire and rescue service than just putting out fires. Staff spend their time working to keep their communities safe and helping to prevent fires and other incidents occurring.  They respond to floods, road traffic collisions, rail, confined space rescue and much more.

Their Creating safer communities plan for 2017-2022 is based around 3 key priorities:

1. Public Safety
2. Staff Safety
3. Effectiveness & Efficiency

Somerset Road Safety

Somerset Road Safety's aim is to reduce collisions and casualties on the roads of Somerset, creating safer communities and improving the quality of life for residents and visitors alike.
