Local Community Networks (LCNs) are a new concept for the Somerset Council unitary authority and are designed to be 'the voice of the community' to help with setting local priorities and raising local issues.
There are 18 LCNs across the county, made up of groups of Parishes. More information about what they are and how they work can be found on the Somerset Council web site.
Below you can view profiles for each of the LCNs covering basic information from the 2021 Census. We intend to create more detailed profiles in the future.

80.9% of Somersets population is economically active. 78.0% in employment, 3.6% unemployed. The unemployment rate is slightly higher than regionally (3.5%), but lower than nationally (4.2%). (ONS Nomis Labour Market profile: July 2024 – June 2025).
