One of the most important challenges faced by Somerset is meeting the increasing demand for housing for both private and social housing. This is recognised in the priorities detailed in the Somerset Strategic Housing Framework.
In particular, Priority 1 is to increase the supply of affordable housing to support economic growth and development, and Priority 2 is to make the best use of the existing housing stock.
